The story is unlikely to go away completely. Last week Gerald Nicosia, the historian who first uncovered evidence the FBI tailed Mr. Kerry back in 1971, reported to police that three of the 14 boxes of the FBI files he obtained under the Freedom of Information Act were stolen from his California home and that other individual files from the remaining 11 boxes were also swiped, including documents about Mr. Kerry that Mr. Nicosia hadn't yet reviewed. "Those revelations are lost now, at least to me," Mr. Nicosia told the Associated Press. Someone, either friend or foe of Mr. Kerry, apparently knew what he was looking for.

Instead, Jack Kelly, a respected military columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, believes many journalists are "more interested in defeating President Bush than in providing readers with potentially important information which reflects poorly on Sen. John Kerry."

This isn't the Jack Kelley with two "e"s that USA Today fired for Jayson-Blair-style fiction in news stories. Anyway, as any Freeper knows, Jack Kelly's got this nailed. Blind eyes are to the telescope in news rooms all over the country regarding Kerry's radical past (which extends well into his Senate career).

I mentioned on the other thread and will repeat here:

CSPAN played a June 1971 Dick Cavet show that featured a debate between John Kerry and John O'Neill.

O'Neill pointed out to Kerry that none of the "soldiers" who "testified" at the Winter Soldier hearing about committing atrocities would sign depositions affirming what they said.

Kerry pointed to the audience and said there was someone who came with him *from Florida* who would step forward and sign a deposition. This was not followed through on and no name was mentioned, but I immediately suspected that it was Scott Camil in the audience.

This is a major article that hits most of the key points in the evolving Kerry / VVAW story. It's also a gauntlet across the chops to all the other media outlets that have been carefully avoiding the topic for several weeks.

With this following on the heels of last week's Boston Globe piece we may see the pace pick up a bit.

Two months after Kansas City he represented VVAW at a speech at Dartmouth College.

In that speech, Kerry criticized Nixon for seeking an early return of POWs. That's struck me as odd for some time now.
