These bastards - guys like Kerry, Kennedys, Alger Hiss - that sort of crowd - have long, long memories. Even to this day, with Dick Nixon dead, they go out of their way to drag his name in the mud. I would not be surprised that these people did something to O'Neil's life or career. Nixon was an affront to the hard left because he'd nailed Hiss.
For this he had to be destroyed.
Nixon was an affront to the "mainstream" left because he'd turned around the situation in Vietnam in the space of just a few years (largely by doing the bloody obvious, e.g. destroying North Vietnamese bases in Cambodia and Laos and bombing the crap out of Hanoi) after the 'Rats and RINOS had pissed around with the war for nearly a decade.
For this not only did Nixon have to be destroyed, but so did the honorable peace he had achieved for South Vietnam. You can see Kerry embracing that goal, quite openly, in this very video tape. (See also my msg #277.)
The "mainstream" left was, in this, even more treacherous than the hard left. At least the hard left always wanted the communists to win. At least they strove consistently to undermine American support for any non-communist government in South Vietnam. The "mainstream" left, OTOH, overwhelming supported the defense of South Vietnam (indeed they drove the escalation) until a Republican was elected.
The 'Rat congress defaulted on our solemn promises to Vietnam, and threw an entire country with it's millions to the wolves, largely out of their hatred for one man. And that hatred, although it was fed by many streams, stemmed in large measure from the fact that he successfully conducted and concluded a war that they had botched horribly.
See some parallels to current events there? You damn well better, because the left won't hesitate to do the same thing again.

Nicosia said this morning on MSNBC callin that he suspected it was Republicans that stole the file because he was giving Kerry's group copies of everything.
Nicosia also said the burglary looked "very professional"
Good grief...they are trying to use shades of Watergate again!
Can't figure out what side Nicosia is on. He outs Kerry on some things but says he suspects the Republicans are guilty (without any proof by the way).

O'Neil was asked to debate Kerry by Nixon.
Kerry lost his bid for the Senate, and Nixon stayed up all night waiting to hear those results.
Nixon was very astute!

Do you know if these John O'Neill's are one and the same??????
To: petitfour
Is the John O'Neill who died in the WTC attacks the same John O'Neill who debated Kerry???? No. (But they're both heroes.) C-SPAN interviewed John O'Neill briefly before they played the '71 tape. He's a lawyer living in Houston, TX.

They are not.The O'Neill who debated Kerry is a lawyer.I believe they said he had just donated a kidney to his wife and is not involved in politics. He thought what Kerry was saying and doing was immoral.I just read the thread as I missed the program.

I saw the June '71 episode last night (Sunday) on C-SPAN, and caught something I thought was interesting: During one of his arrogant and condescending omphalomic ramblings that avoided the question at hand, Kerry mentioned that his immediate CO while in the Swift Boat Program was also opposed to the war. That got me to thinking: Did this alleged CO sign off on Purple Heart requests for anyone else who held his views, knowing that three PH's would be a ticket out for the recipient? Is this why Kerry won't let his military records be released?

Thanks. I looked at another thread and found the answer. I suppose I should read all posts on a subject before I ask a question that's already been answered. :)

(I don't know more though.)

The Kursk is no more, and Siberia is a "Protected Wilderness."
Yes, there is no more communism.
But socialism permeates everything. More's the pity.

Nicosia's aleftist covering for a leftist. If the burglary was professional they would have taken all the boxes, copied what was wanted, and then replaced the boxes - all without him ever knowing he had even been burgled.
The robbery is a lie - just a fabricated event to cover for a later claim... the left will next claim the original files have been altered and were it not for the "burglary," Nicosia's files would reveal the "truth" that can "never again be revealed by looking at the files still retained by the FBI, almost certainly tampered with by the eeviiiil Ashcroft." Then they will repeat endlessly the lie until it is finally accepted as "fact," just as John Kerry's VVAW fabricated testimony and pounded it in, however ridiculous it was, until it bacame "history." The press will not treat the original files as fact but will consider them tainted, relying insted on what Nicosia remembers he read and what he claims he copied for the Kerry campaign. It won't matter that they're just making it all up - their objective is only to cloud the issue and inject doubt, and then from doubt they assemble a revised history to fit their sales pitch.

Okay, I want N.K. to be free, too.
But with the tit of Mother Russia dried up, and China becoming the manufacturer of everything we put on and in our bodies, I think anytime we want to step on N.K., we can.
Now the Islamofascist-terrorists, that's another story all together. Them I worry about.

Kerry: It's "hypocrisy" not to include and accomodate the communists in a South Vietnamese "coalition" government. Gag!
