I was waiting for this to go up. We're about t-minus one hour from it (depending on how long Duke-Xavier goes, I guess). Too bad it's not going to be a long interview like Clarke had. I've noticed that 60 Minutes are not promoting this either. The commercial I just saw advertised the story on soccer phenom Freddy Adu, not the story on Rice or Pickering. I also discovered from the link referenced above that Rice spoke to them this morning and not yesterday as I'd heard would be the case before. Bill Kristol predicted this morning that Rice might say that if this is really such a big deal that she'll testify in public under oath as she's been badgered to do. I don't think Bill has a good track record on predicting news, so take that with a grain of salt. By the way, go Xavier-- I had Duke losing before now in my office pool bracket, but my opponents have them winning it all.

I feel sick just hearing the voices of the 60 Minutes malignant narcissists. It HAS to be 15 years since I've watched.

As long as he's interviewed, he should have a chance to tell the REAL DEAL. Now how they edit it is another matter altogether.

So , they've played their opening segments, and the Condi segment they chose is the one where she explains why she won't testify publicly. Now, I thought this was going to be about Condi's response to Clarke. Seems CBS doesn't want to push it this way.

It's against all of my principles to even watch this dispicable show "60 minutes", but I will because I'm so darned curious why SeeBS had and interview with Condi Rice and didn't promote it. BTW, Leslie Stahl must have on the ugliest earrings I've ever seen, even uglier than Ed Bradley's.

I'm going to time just how many minutes they give Condi and then decide whether or not to listen to their propaganda about Pickering. Otherwise I will turn immediately to another channel

Think about it.
All day today on the talking heads every Republican declared that Condi SHOULD testify; one said he was absolutely sure she would. I think that decision has already been made.
And I think it's the Dems worst nightmare.
Condi is an intelligent well-spoken woman. She'll wow the soccer Moms off their feet. Not that many soccer Moms will be watching that hearing but sometimes snippets make into the 6 o'clock news.
Then there's the 60 minutes thing. Quite a few people watch this show.
If the pubbies didn't get a clue soon they might lose this thing. So far this week I've been impressed with how they've fought back. Sure the Dems are calling it a White House "attack" machine. If this WH so much as suggests anything contrary to the Dem vicious spin they are "attacking".
Condaleeza Rice is this administration's Ace in the Hole. They should bring her out, trot her around....come on! The lady is so great John Q. is going to like her waaaaaay better than Richard Clarke.
Yeah, I know. It shouldn't be about sound bites and spin. But it is. The pubbies needed a clue and I think they've got one. The bonus is Condi is really telling the truth.
All of those pubbies wouldn't be on TV saying that Condi "should" testify if the WH hadn't given the go-ahead.
I read some wise pundit recently. The admonition for this administration was something to the effect that we members of the Conservative idealology didn't hire Bush to be noble and silent.
WE HIRED HIM TO GET ELECTED!
The Dems are taking gas over Condi testifying. Bank on it. They were dreaming the WH would give them another lying spin by saying they weren't "forthcoming".
Condi taking the national stage? Their worst nightmare.

The interview is not live and 60 Mins always edits everything. Keep that in mind.
