I think the 9-11 Commission hearings are a bipartisan thing.

In a way they are or could be but they have clearly been hijacked with an anti-Bush angle and they need to get on track of the purpose.

I will point out that allowing those families with an agenda to sit there and applaud certain testimony is most inappropriate. So was the waving around of Clarke's book as if it was Holy Writ. Then we had Bob Kerrey offer the liar Clarke a job!

It seems to me that Clarke was a rather unimaginitive dilligent bureaucrat....with some goofy ideas but hard working none-the-less; until Condi Rice became his boss. He tried to get out of working for her by angling for the 2nd top Homeland security job. When that failed, he couldn't take it any more, and quit - complete with a vendetta.

I don't want to put thoughts in his head that I can't read: but with his snide comment about Condi not knowing the term al Qaeda, and his transparent vendetta - could it be he has a problem working for a black woman ie: he's a bigoted homophobe?!

Wouldn't the Democrats twist their knickers in a knot trying to wiggle out of that charge against Clarke?

The commission was NEVER intended to be bipartisan in any manner other than WORDS. Think about HOW OFTEN we have heard that Condi Rice SHOULD testify in PUBLIC. Then think how often it was reported that she had TESTIFIED for more than FOUR hours. I never heard it UNTIL she said it on H&C. Then try to find reports that X42 and his suckup will NOT TESTIFY under oath to the commission. You will find MASSIVE discrepencies, as is usually the case in these so called BIPARTISAN hearings.
