Virginia has mass meetings, which are party-exclusive. However, they do have primaries, but an individual doesn't have to declare his or her party to vote.
In fact, I voted for Howard Dean in the Democratic primary a couple of months ago (snicker, snicker).

But, IF he voted republican (which is actually doubtful) did he vote for Bush or McCain in that primary?
He says he voted for Gore in the election itself.
