BATON ROUGE - Walk through any university campus in the state and you'll notice beautiful scenery and historic buildings.
Look closer, especially at some student residence halls, and you'll see peeling paint, leaky windows, moldy corners and some pretty rough bathroom facilities.

"The fabled South Stadium housing - the original reason Tiger Stadium was enclosed - was shut down." Actually, the south end of Tiger Stadium used to be open (i.e., the stadium consisted of seats at the north end, and on the east and west sides---all of which "did" include dormitories underneath). It was THOSE dormitories (North, East and West Stadium) which were converted to facilities and offices for the sports administrations. SOUTH STADIUM (with its included dorm) was of a MUCH more recent vintage.
Although I guess it is expected that a NORTH Louisiana newspaper wouldn't get the story right.

Oh hell, everything is Louisiana is constantly rotting. It is hard to keep up with the rot. This is a semi tropical wet environment with termites and all kinds of critters. I have a carpenter and painter on retainer who come every spring just to fix, replace and paint the rotted areas. And don't get me started on the mold and mildew and the constant window washing and the roaches. This place is like living in a jungle. But, OTOH, the gumbo is devine. And the bread pudding, pralines, sweet potato pie, music, etc.

Toward the end, even "I" was rotting (i.e. had developed BAD, BAD mold allergies and was sick virtually all the time). I can never go back to Louisiana, except for short visits---if I stay more than 2-3 days, the allergies start coming back. But DAMN, I miss it!!!
