Iraq was a primary supporter of terrorism. Check a middle east map. Look at the strategic importance of Iraq in the middle east. Your statement is like saying that there's no reason to take a knight located in the middle of a chess board because the object is to get the king.

Elected governments and the elimination of dictators who foster terrorism is a primary tactic in the war on terror.

Excuse me, but following your reasons: why are the regimes in Iran, N Korea, Syria, etc still in power? I am not going to discuss the Iraq issue with you - I think you have enough work to do in persuading your fellow-citizens during the election campaign - and I´m preparing for my trip to the US (Hawaii, LA, SF), which starts in 10 hours!! :-)

My point is: accept different opinions, and don´t mix issues which shouldn´t be mixed. Germany is an ally in the WOT, and there´s no need to say we Germans were "against you".

The weather´s fine in the Western US, I´m glad to hear that and looking forward to have a great time over there.

Don´t forget to think when writing a rant, with all respect. ;)
