Mel Gibson's been in the hot seat lately with his controversial film, The Passion of the Christ - but that hasn't stopped Sara Evans from sticking up for him. Sara was one of a few country artists who got a sneak peek at the film months before its national release. "Yeah, he needed a lot of prayer, he needed a lot of support and I know it's been really, really hard on him," says Sara. "But like he said, he was more afraid not to do it than to do it because he knew he was called. And he said it's been on his mind for the last 12 years, the making of this film, so that's why I have been so outspoken is because I get really, really angry at the criticism that he's gotten and people saying that he's anti-Semitic and just stuff like that, which is completely not his heart."

Obey the Sara Evans rule just as you'd obey the Ann Coulter rule. Babe Republicans are awesome.

There's more common sense wisdom in Nashville's pinky than in Hollywood's whole diseased body.

Sorry, I'm not technologically proficient, or I'd gladly live by the post-the-babe-photo rule.

She has a GREAT voice and as my husband would say, "She ain't hard on the eyes".
I like her even more now that I know she is standing up for Mel....of course, looking at Mel, I would stand up for him too. I would sit down, I would stand up, I would ....well, never mind.

Sara's from New Franklin, Missouri, about 10 miles from where I'm sitting in Columbia. Do yourself a favor and buy her new CD. It's really good.

Kinda liked what I had heard of her on the radio...
... apparently she has a brain, and not just a voice.
