I'm not sure I agree with Laura that Kerry won't ever adopt the stance that the U.S. has too much power. He's campaigning as if he believes that. I believe he WANTS to give up sovereignty in certain areas. Doesn't he favor the International Court system, etc.?

I believe she means that if we were facing a tangible threat, NO American president would knowingly compromise the defense of our nation despite angering other countries.

If John Kerry thinks that attending European conferences and pushing Congress to ratify more international accords is going to endear him to the Europeans, he's sorely mistaken. He'd have better luck wearing French cuffs and buying a residence in Provence.

Kerry: "Okay, done that. What's step three?"
