The man who uncovered evidence the FBI tailed presidential candidate John Kerry for months in 1971 said some of those files were stolen this week.

Author Gerald Nicosia reported to police Friday that three of the 14 boxes of once-secret FBI files he obtained under the Freedom of Information Act were taken from his Corte Madera home.

Play twilight zone music, please...The problem is his request was for a lot of material..If he hasn't exact records of what was missing, he'll have to resubmit the full request and wait a LONG time for it to be filled. If he can id what is missing, it will certainly speed up the time to replace the missing copies.

Boy this is really dramatic. In fact, it's so dramatic that it's a little hard to believe. Not saying it's not true but, let's wait to see how this shakes out before we get too far into speculation about it. Nothing worse than being taken in by an urban legend... or a partisan trick of some kind.

If this is true he is lucky to still be breathing.

If this had been members of the clinton crime cartel he would have committed suicide.

What prevents him from making another FOIA request?

-We- should request for the same material, and look through it ourselves. Cause I got no inkling from the article that the person in question is going to file for them again. It's possible that person has been... instructed not to do so.

Hmmmm. I smell a RAT. Hubby was skeptical of this release of the surveillance of Kerry by the FBI because it makes him look sympathetic. And now the content of those files goes missing? I guess Kerry will continue to look sympathetic, and we'll never know what was in the files.

But we do know that Kerry was at a meeting where assassinations were discussed. And then there's the nasty run-in Senator Stennis had with some robbers on his front lawn. And who else were they after???????

These would be copies wouldn't they ? So he can reapply and then look particularly at those stolen the first time to see what makes them attractive

My thoughts exactly. As a matter of fact, the stolen items would be the first I would check. It should prove interesting.

These are only copies. But two things occur to me.

First, the FBI can be very, very slow responding to an FOIA inquiry. They might not manage to come up with replacements until next November.

Second, the FBI is pretty good at losing or shredding files themselves. Just look at Filegate, the OKC bombing, and TWA 800. Not to speak of those X-rays of Vince Foster and Ron Brown that vanished right out of locked safes.

Maybe the missing stuff is about Senator Stennis being shot down on the streets of Washington?!

I confess. But I got the wrong files. The ones I took just detail him eating his lunch, going to the bathroom, and visiting some senator at his house.

Nicosia said. "Those revelations are lost now, at least to me."

File another FOIA, dummy, and get another load of copies.

Here we go again, like Clinton, like Kerry

Folks, this could be 1992 all over again. We better get ready for a bumpy ride.

A little birdy probably told him not to...If you get my drift.

An interesting fact is that Kerry's campaign manager was arrested on the eave of his first election for breaking into the building that housed his opponent. He of course claimed he was there because their campaign shared the same building but it still caused a stir nonetheless.
