Mexico has alot of gall...crying about a group of people not having visas in their country when they send 1000's of illegals over the U.S. border every year and do nothing when we complain.

Mexico thinks the UK wants to invade them ... sending British military types in to reconnoiter caves? Give Mexicans a few more years and they'll all be up here in the good ol'USA ... the Brits can invade Mexico without firing a shot.

crying about a group of people not having visas C'mon: this is not just a visa problem --- you have foreign military on your soil.
You position is not principled, you are merely irritated with the Mexicans.

First of all, it's got to be pretty embarassing to be members of an 'elite' military caving team, and get stuck in one. Has anybody heard of their duty status at the time the incident occurred?
To: AM2000
Well...its quite obvius that someone on the British team does not understand the quaint Mescan custom of 'mordida.'
A bit of food for 'the bite' and all of this could have easily been avoided.
No other way those caves are going to get mapped in a reliable manner. And look who's getting their feathers up over this...Vicente Fox. Of course this is totally unrelated to the British assistance to the US spying on Mesco during the recent Iraq activities...totally unrelated, of course.

Screw Fox!
When he won the election and finally overcame the very corrupt PRI party of some 80 years that had controlled Mexican Politics.........
We, down here on the border, thought he was a "breath of fresh air" and that our neighbor to the south was "turning around" decades of corrupt politics.......
We were wrong.......
Fox is just another corrupt Despot!

It's simple. This is where the Brits always do cave training. Undetected. It's bravado, it's esprit de corps, it's clandestine. It may not always be Mexico. The point is, to move about in a foreign country, do the maneuvers, and get out. It's like counting coup. Too bad about the mishap.

I think if we found members of a foriegn military possibly conducting exercises on our soil, we'd be pissed too.

"We are not going to tolerate on this occasion that no one explains to us exactly what their citizens were doing here," he said in comments published in the Mexican press.
Hey Mexico and Fox! Can you take YOUR citizens home? You know the ones that come here every day and have INVADED California, Arizona and Texas????
Do it NOW!
We should f'n detain every single one of their "people" in response to this.

C'mon yourself, 4 guys on vacation is not a military presence. And mexico has a long history on being tough, even brutal to their illegal immigrants.

You could fastforward another 100 years and Mexico would still have its head up its a**.
