Well, the reason I chose that design was that the art was already done, and in the public domain. That's the exact "Naval Jack" which flies on every Naval vessel. So whoever piced the red snake, did it about 200+ years ago, and wore a three-cornered hat, so far be it from me to change it now. All the current artist had to do was add a rifle sillouette, and the text at the top.

Well if our ancestors liked it I guess it has to be ok.

Somehow, everytime I think of a "red snake", Bill Clinton comes to mind.
