Thanks for looking at that. I didn't see anything that looked like a phoenix, either, but what I was wondering about was the stylized bird motifs in that chapter. I'm curious if the Chinese phoenix iconography might use any of the same motifs. Of course it's impossible to tell without seeing some pictures of the Chinese design, so this is just a shot in the dark on my part. It may well be there's no connection there.

I too wish that there was a picture of the Chinese find. It is impossible to know if the iconography is similar in any way,without seeing that.
It was no trouble at all.I prefer to do my research in books and NOT on line.I'm a tad LUDDITEish,in that respect.LOL
If I can ever look up something else for you, please let me know.
