Pretty sad to be in a heads you lose, tails you lose, situation. Have you received alot of calls from the RNC asking you to listen to a recording of Delay or some other Republican, then asking if you are going to vote for Bush?

I have had three of them, and informed them that Bush is far too liberal for me to vote for. It's going to be strange for me to sit out an election, I have never missed one and have always voted Republican. Now I feel like Reagan, "I didn't leave my party, they left me".

Well if nothing else, DON'T "sit out" the election just because you don't like either of the major party tickets for POTUS. There are almost always candidates for other public offices on the ballot (Senate, House and various State and Local positions) that you can vote for. And if Third Party candidates don't spark your interest, you can always participate through the American tradition of writing-in your own selection. I personally don't care for anything silly like "Mickey Mouse", but "none-of-the-above" gets your viewpoint across quite well. Of course, you can also name someone who you admire and is well known, even though they're not actually running. It doesn't really matter, but as a matter of principle, your vote is YOURS, and you can cast it for whomever you want. Or toss it away whichever way YOU see fit. But VOTE, and vote your conscience. Don't let ANYBODY badger you into voting for something or somebody you don't believe in.

Don't sit it out since that's defeatist to the core. Leave the president's spot blank if you must, but there's other offices up besides the presidency. A blank spot with a record of showing up is still a vote and is recorded by the clerk.

Where I'm at, and I'm sure it's similar where you are at, there's congress, state representative, State Supreme Court and other JUDICIAL RACES(I'd show up just for that), county commissioner, and the University boards.
