US Rice To Conduct Interview With CBS' 60 Minutes
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--In addition to offering a second round of testimony from its National Security Adviser, the White House also has offered Condoleezza Rice to CBS's 60 Minutes program, the network's Web site reported Friday.
CBS has accepted an offer for a sit-down with Rice and an interview has been set for Saturday to air on the 60 Minutes program on Sunday at 7 p.m. EST, according to the Web site. It was on the CBS program that former Bush administration counterterrorism official Richard Clarke first made public damaging comments over the administration's policy on terrorism. Those comments and allegations in a book he authored - released this week - have drawn a sharp response from the administration and in particular Rice.
The White House also late Thursday offered to have Rice testify privately before the 9/11 commission, in part to refute Clarke's public testimony before the panel earlier this week. The panel hasn't stated when or if it might hear more from Rice, although a spokesman earlier Friday said the panel is likely to offer her more time before it.

CBS has accepted an offer for a sit-down with Rice and an interview has been set for Saturday to air on the 60 MinutesThink they had to accept an offer from Clarke, or did they go after him?

Think they had to accept an offer from Clarke, or did they go after him? Seeing as Viacom published his book, I'll bet being features on 60 Minutes is part of the publishing agreement.

This is going to get ugly. Hannity played Condi's interview yesterday ... she is livid. Articulate and livid is a good combination ... and the facts are on our side.

Given that 60 Minutes and the Kerry team will have complete control over the questions and what is actually aired, I think this is a BAD, BAD mistake. This is exactly what the Democrats wanted.
It would be fine if the interview would be aired unedited, but it won't be, and it will be edited to make Dr. Rice look like a complete fool.

60 Minutes has been ugly for years.
Leslie Stahl is ugly.
Clarke is ugly.
Condi is beautiful...she's not into lying and slander, unlike all the aforementioned, rabid fools.

Don't forget Condi's secret weapon: she's a livid, articulate
black woman.
All the 60 Minutes talking heads are hardcore, kneejerk extremist 'rats.
'Rats are (literally) brainwashed from birth never, ever to do anything but BACK DOWN, whenever confronted by an angry black woman. :)

Probably Leslie Stahl. Can you imagine her voice dripping with sarcastic venom as she interviews the articulate Dr. Rice?
It certainly won't sound like the "Golly gee wow feed me more" tone she used with Clark.
To: BunnySlippers
This is a good thing. Hope they get into her background a bit. She's got quite an impressive resume.
Most people (prime time viewers) don't really know her, and she has a great personality, and comes off believable.
And she's not selling a book!

CBS is owned by Viacom, Viacom also owns Simon and Schuster who published Clarke's book. Or was your question meant as sarcasm? Oh, well, I answered it anyway.
