Schorr et al seem unable to realize that France is not an allly but an adversary, and did everything to keep Saddam in power, including its double-crossing action in the UN. It will be interesting to learn what Saddam has to say about the deals he cut with the Europeans and what assurances they gave him that he would never be atttacked no matter how stubbornly he resisted full disclosure. My guess what would have happpened would have been that after Bliss gave him a clear bill of health. Once the oil revenue started flowing in again, he would have been up tp his old tricks and thirty years from now his son/s would still be in power.
