He said he voted for Bush. Any stats prior to 2002?Did he say that? I thought he hedged and indicated he voted Republican in the *primary* and I swear somebody dug up a quote of him saying he voted McCain. If not, it seems to me the likely scenario. If he was really for him or not would still "not a Republican" make, since I well remember the dems across the nation voting McCain in order to bump Bush off. Didn't work! LOL

Check it out. I Googled "Richard Clarke voted for McCain" and my first hit is an article from Salon dated today by none other than (drumroll, please!) Sidney Blumenthal.
In addition to citing Clarke's "unimpeachable credibility" (I am literally LOL), he notes that Clarke voted for McCain in the 2000 primary as evidence of Clarke's oh-so-bipartisan attitude. I know some other source cited the same:
