Let's see, Bush is condemned for not preemptively attacking Afghanistan before 911 based on available intelligence but is also condemned for attacking Iraq preemptively based on available intelligence. Is that about right?

I'm not sure.
Last week, it was that he did TOO MUCH and tricked us all into war.
This week, it is he didn't do enought.
And here's a thought: suppose he had attacked Afghanistan, and 9-11 had still occurred -- because you know they were ALL already 'in country' the day he took office.
What do you think they would have said then?

I think you've got it.
Spain is pulling out of Iraq because they were attacked by Al Qaeda. Al Quaeda is not in Iraq.

Is that about right? I need to go wrap my head in duct tape again. How is this country ever going to survive?

I noticed two things while watching the hearing today:
One, the commission is a farce for public consumption in the hopes that it will provide "closure" for the people and prevent them from suing. But given Clarke's reception by the "victims" afterward it doesn't look likely.
Two, Condi Rice is the most powerful black woman in the world. Look for her on the cover of Ebony and Jet soon.

Nope.
Bush 1 is roundly condemed for not defeating Sadam.
Bush 2 is roundly condemed for defeating Sadam.
Now you have it right.
