WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In August 2002, then-White House counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke told reporters that the Bush administration -- from day one -- told him to "vigorously pursue" the Clinton administration policy that allowed the United States to kill Osama bin Laden if the opportunity arose.

Kerrey is a jerkoff and he proved how big of one he is today. I thought it was a reporters job to expose lies and B.S. when he hears it. Kerrey was mad because his witch hunt was exposed for the fraud it really is. Fair and balanced indeed, Mr Kerrey.

It was on the live thread but that's up to 3000 posts.

I remember one of the beneficiaries of a Dick Clarke-Kent $2000 political donation was some democratic congressman from Missouri. All I remember. Sorry

They spin it, but the essential facts are there. The best interpretation you can give him from the evidence is "disgruntled former employee, demoted by a black woman, seeks revenge."

I understand from other threads that he is under oath from a previous investigation, saying the same things he said in 2002. He is under oath today saying Bush didn't ask him to lie.

I can accept the fact that he puffed Bush up in 2002, but his puffery is filled with specific details that will not spin away.

It os not simply that he defended Bush -- it is the details that prove he is lying now.

CNN ALSO said that Clarkey-boy was "just trying to put a positive spin" on the Bush's inaction...

Heh, heh, heh...they can't have it both ways.

I'm CERTAIN the WHouse has led the Dimorats down the lane like lemmings to the cliff...our honorable and dignified President Bush will be able to leverage this in the months to come...

Daschle is still deeply saddended I suppose...?

Let's Roll People, W needs us.

I heard him say Republican primary ballot, which makes me think he was one of those "independents" who cast a mischief vote for McCain.

OK, now we know that CNN was in on that phone call along with FOX, now we need to find out who the others were. Let's watch the news and see who tells the truth and who tries to cover up.

We know from the transcript that someone named Andrea was there.

Does anyone doubt it is Andrea Mitchel?

According to Kristol, any office that deals with National Security under any President is supposed to be nonpartisan, so that the heads of those offices can go from one President to the next. Clarke is a liberal holdover from the Clinton maladministration.

Clarke: White House lacked urgency on terrorism

Not anymore. Now there's a huge headline that says, "Clarke: White House lacked urgency on terrorism."

Well, according to one report I read, "all the news media involved" were called today and told that they were free to use that briefing.

NBC reported it.
CBS reported it.
ABC reported it.
CNN reported it.
Fox reported it.

That's five. And yes, I can't imagine who else it would be except Andrea Mitchell.

So that means that out of five media outlets/reporters who knew that Clarke was lying, only ONE reported it until flushed out.

The headline still remains Clinton was tough on terror, Bush was not.

That one kills me. Let's see:

1993 World Trade Center
1993 New York City landmark bomb plot
1994 Ramzi Yousef tests small bomb on Philippine Airline Flight 434 which killed a Japanese business man
1995 Ramzi Yousef's Operation Bojinka is discovered on a laptop computer in a Manila, Philippines apartment by authorities after an apartment fire occurred in the apartment
1995 Bombing of Military compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1996 Despite Clinton's "unprecedented peace efforts," a series of four suicide bombings in Israel leave 67 dead and 161 wounded within 10 days
1996 Khobar Towers bombing (19 US Servicemen killed 372 wounded!)
1997 Islamic terrorists attack tourists in Luxor, Egypt, killing 71 people, most of them European and Japanese vacationers
1997 A terrorist opened fire on tourists at an observation deck atop the Empire State Building in New York City, killing a Danish national and wounding visitors from the United States, Argentina, Switzerland and France before turning the gun on himself. A handwritten note carried by the gunman claimed this was a punishment attack against the "enemies of Palestine"
1998 U.S. Embassy bombings Tanzania and Kenya killed 215 and injured 4085
1999 Ahmed Ressam is arrested on the US-Canada border in Port Angeles, Washington; he confessed to planning to bomb the Los Angeles International Airport as part of the 2000 celebration terrorist attacks plot
1999 Jordanian authorities foil a plot to bomb US and Israeli tourists in Jordan and pick up 28 suspects as part of the 2000 celebration terrorist attacks plot
2000 The last part of the 2000 celebration terrorist attacks plot fails, as the boat meant to bomb the USS The Sullivans sinks
2000 USS Cole bombing killed 17 sailors and injured 39 others
2000 German police foil plot to attack a cathedral in Strasbourg, France

All of that, not to mention questions about TWA Flight 800 and Egypt Air flight 990, all on Clinton's watch. He even "declared war on terrorism" sometime around 1998. And aside from the wag the doggy stuff with the missiles + monice, he just didn't act on it.

And these "journalist" can "report" with a straight face that Clinton's top priority was fighting terrorism?

Can anybody say MINISTRY OF TRUTH?

It's getting scary man...
