It is obvious, Clinton pulled his own files, to trash his opponents. jim Angle is a reporter for Fox, just doing his job. To imply that President Bush is using the same tactic is completely false.

John: Telling the truth is never a "smear campaign." Jim Angle was able to find the tape and put out a transcript. This Clarke dude — who was essentially unknown in the broader public until the 60 Minutes interview — has been caught in a very serious lie. It is not a "smear" to report and document that lie. If anything, a deliberate, genuine smear seems to be coming from Clarke and his promoters against President Bush, Condi Rice, and others in the administration.

In these very dangerous times, none of us can afford to suffer mendacious fools like Clarke for a nanosecond. We've got to keep our focus on the real enemy — who must be taking great pleasure in the way we're pointing fingers at each other while his minions continue to plot.
