As warned recently, it's time to play the property tax game.

My "new" valuation for 2005 arrived. It's up 15.7 percent. Yikes! That's on top of an increase as big last year.

My property taxes increased more in the past two years than in the previous 16 years I've owned my house. Still the politicians say they need more money.

Sounds like what was happening in California in the early 70's. You guys need to do your own version of Proposition 13 out there.

Just keep voting those liberals into office, believe their rhetoric and watch Socialism take over this country.

Canada takes over 50% of their peoples wages to feed the raging government beast that is out of control. Much like California, with "Medical", (Hillary's failed government health care resurrected for public trial in California) the system is broken beyond repair and is causing business and industry to leave the country.

Outsourcing is really related to government meddling and parasitic bloodletting.

Tennessee has a law where every time they revise the valuations they then have to lower the rate so that the new valuations are revenue neutral. Of course, I wonder if they really are, but they do come in and lower the rate.

Which of course leads to the "threaten education game", whereby the governor closes the parks and threatens to cut education unless the people vote to raise the property tax back up and put in an income tax. The governor threatens this while directing the government to build private roads to his property and sending the governor's jet from Nashville to Memphis to pick up pie for dinner.

I have always beleived property taxes are fundamentally communist.

The state makes a claim on your property and they will run you out of your house at the point of a gun if you don't pay the extortion.
