I wonder what these senators thought of Kerry???

According to FBI files obtained by CNSNews.com, that 1971 meeting included talk of possibly assassinating U.S. senators. VVAW members discussed targeting then-Senators Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, John Tower of Texas and John Stennis of Mississippi because of their continuing support for the Vietnam war

In a recent Washington Post article, Holt commented, "John Kerry's campaign seems to be summed up this way: I went to Vietnam, yadda, yadda yadda, I want to be president."

Kerry was in Vietnam?

The problem with the democrats is they have NO LEADER. All the dems have are hateful attacks, rhetorical hate for the "vast right-wing" conservatives and no vision for the future of their party. President Bush is A LEADER and he has a vision for peace and on where he wants to lead this country. Period.

The Kerry campaign said that Holt -- as George W. Bush's campaign spokesman -- "put his tongue in his cheek and thumbed his nose at the 2.6 million American soldiers who served honorably in Vietnam."

Now, refresh my memory here, which one of these two candidates accused the VN soldiers of being rapists, torturers, child killers, and war criminals????

These sorry sob's would sell their mother's souls if it would benefit the party......

Just so Meg isn't perceived as the only one

She absolutely, positively is NOT the only one, by any means... and: I'll proudly stand up alongside her on this one, as well! FOUR MORE YEARS! :)

This election is very important, and I don't think a single issue should let anyone decide who the better candidate for the job is.

Kerry spokesperson Stephanie Cutter issued a statement accusing the Bush campaign of "laughing off John Kerry's Vietnam service and disrespecting the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of American Veterans and their families."

As for this statement, being a 30 + year military member, my previous tag line probably had Kerry pegged correctly.

I have more time in the chow line than John f'ing Kerry spent in Vietnam.

Kerry spat on his comrades in arms and gave aid and comfort to the enemy.A pox on him and his spokesperson. We ought to play his testimony in a nationwide ad.

The Kerry campaign said Holt's comment was an attack on all Vietnam Veterans -- something it was not intended to be.

A real hero wears his medals on his chest, not his sleeve.

Ever notice how any criticism of Kerry is never answered, just redirected?

And Kommissar Kerry is the one that constantly brings up Vietnam, not anyone else. If he is so proud of his record, he should release the FULL records for all to view. Just to put those nasty band aid Purple Heart and self awarded Silver Star stories to rest of course....

Good idea about the ad. Talk about the whining starting if his testimony was played in a campaign ad. Poor whining libs.

CSpan had it last Sunday. It was tough to listen to the interview with the worshipful Marvin Kalb describe the magnificent words(a Kennedy speechwriter wrote the speech) and listen to the fawning Fulbright of all those years ago.The worst was listening to Kerry, even though I'd heard it.

His voice makes me want to barf. That monotone voice is sooooooooooooooooo sickening, I can't listen to more than one or two phrases when he speaks.

Can you imagine him giving a speech before congress? Everyone would have to have their eyes taped open. That voice would make most people fall asleep.

"I make a firm prediction, our country is in serious trouble no matter which is elected. The handlers keep trying to fill an empty suit. They are the ones that the public should be scrutinizing."

I cannot disagree with you more. There is a one difference between Bush and Kerry. Well alot actually, but I will mention one.

Bush is a LEADER

The presidency is about leadership. Period. Kerry is not a leader. Kerry is a tool of the extreme left, to be used to forward an agenda of the total destruction of American values.

Kerry came back from Vietnam a Marxist. Period. He has done nothing in 19 years in the senate to forward American values or the American dream. He has made it a conscious effort to disrupt every policy that would make America stronger. He has subordinated himself to a world body that cares little if anything for Democratic values.

He is a Mass liberal whose only goal is to take from hard working families and redistribute it, while doing nothing about his own wealth. He is an elitist snob that is thumbing his nose at everyone while pretending to care.

In short, he is a parasite that takes up oxygen and gives back nothing tangible.

John Kerry has been sent forth by his puppet masters to destroy the American way.

As far as the country being in trouble no matter who is elected, remember one thing. Would you rather be a living in a Socialist state or a state that places the highest value on an individuals freedoms?

That is the choice come November.

I am sincerely amazed that you can still see President Bush as an empty suit after all he has shown of his character these last 3 years.

I could agree with you if he didn't let the inmates run the asylum. No vetoes on anything, letting the neocons run rampant on their war plans, blaming poor intelligence for his quotes on dangers of attack on US without mentioning who was responsible. No firing for incompetence if intelligence was to blame. Underestimating the costs of medicare drugs. The list of goof-ups goes on and on. I can excuse a few mistakes as part of the learning process as a new President but this is getting to be too much.

Your freedom is so much better since Patriot One and Two were passed. Your economic freedom is so much better enhanced with a trillion and a half of new debt. How lucky can you get?

P.S. Who called the UN to take over the MESS in Iraq? The UN enhances your freedom? Both candidates are duds and capable of taking your freedom.

I consider myself very lucky. Under Bush, my children are getting a better education because the teachers now actually have to work. My income has gone up because my company can now afford to give raises and bonuses. My personal income has gone up because I am now benefitting from my companies profits. Myh mortgage has gone down and I am spending spending spending without incurring any debt.

Just something that you really need to remember. Life is about about liberty and the persuit of happiness. It doesn't say the government is supposed to provide it to you. We, as individuals have the right to make as much money as we want and enjoy the fruits of that labor without anyone telling us what we can and cannot do. In addition, life is about taking command of your own being. Physically, mentally, spiritually and religiously if you so choose.

The difference between Bush and Kerry is that under Bush you can enjoy this. Under Kerry, you won't. Because it is the lefts goal to take that away from you. If you think I am wrong, ask the people of Red China, Vietnam, Cuba, the old Soviet Union and the states it conquered through expansionism. Or you can live in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, the old Iraq, the old Afghanistan......

Look at the past weekends rallies. Blacks rising up for the workrs of the world. Hell, the white , liberal elite bought WLIB, a black radio station and fired everyone that worked there. A utopian society? Bahh. I know you don't want to live in a plain gray 20x30' cell with a family of four. That experiment failed miserably in the 60's and the people that want us to live like that don't have to live there. I for one enjoy my house in the burbs, the one I bought with the money I earned working for the Halliburtons of the world. Where my skill determines how much I make rather than what the union is holding up the company for.

Too many people think this country is about the Halliburtons of the world. Funny, but the people that do, don't work for them. They are coddled away in academia, government jobs or other outlets where they can toss bombs while taking no responsibility.

Life is about responsibility. Unfortunately, the left are not responsible. And that is why I will never trust them running this government.

Say what you want about this existing administration. As bad as you may believe it is, it is better than what you will get under Kerry.
