Could it be that some Americans are finally awakening to the fact if we don't do something about the open borders policy, we are no longer going to live as a free nation?

This Cedillo character seems to think he has Gov. Arnold in his back pocket.

While this is encouraging, remember that in December, the Senate Republicans had a firm pact re: a spending cap. 2 Senators caved in to the democrats.... and, when added to the dems, it only takes 2 Republicans to get a majority.

Until we know for sure.... keep up the only defense!

McClintock Ping... on KFI640 @ 5:00PM

Senator Tom McClintock will be going to the Senate Education Committee next week with a bill to stop Community Colleges and CSU’s from allowing illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition fees (which they can do now).

Senator McClintock will be on the John and Ken show today at 5pm. He will also give an update as to the latest on what he is hearing on the Cedillo drivers license bill.

UPDATE from John and Ken Show

Senator Gil Cedillo
We have contacted all the Republicans in the State Senate and the State Assembly asking one question- how will you be voting on Senator Gil Cedillo's Illegal Alien Driver License Bill (SB1160). After hours of phone calls and playing phone tag, we have compiled a list of Legislatures that have answered our question. If you DO NOT see your Senator or Assembly member, then they have replied with a big fat NO to SB1160. For those who have not replied to any phone messages or seem to be on the fence about the issue, we have kindly made available their contact information. We urge you to call them and let them know that SB1160 is wrong for California.

a Hispanic State legislator, Cil Cedillo, said glibly, "we were here first and now we're back."

http://wais.stanford.edu/USA/us_laraza.html

Gilbert Cedillo believes that illegal aliens were "here" (California) first because California was once a part of Mexico -- Cedillo thinks U.S. citizens take a back seat to mexican citizens:

Interviewer: "These people (illegal aliens) are here to stay, they're not going away"
Cedillo: "There's no question about it, they were here first, they're here now, they're fully integrateded into the economy. I don't think we want them to leave."

http://www.mayorno.com/soundclips.html

Friend of Cedillo

Villaraigosa's close friend Mario Obledo, co-founder of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund) and winner of the 1998 Presidential Medal of Freedom, awarded by President Clinton, made these racist remarks on the Tom Leykis talk show on 6/17/98 and on the Ray Briem talk show on 6/17/98. Asked by Ray Briem if he thought that the statement was racist, Obledo said "No, because that's a reality. California is going to be inhabited mostly by Hispanics.

"We're going to take over all the political institutions of California, in five years, we're going to be the majority population in this state. California is going to be a Hispanic state and anyone who doesn't like it should leave" and "Well, if they (Anglos) don't like Mexicans they ought to leave. They ought to go back to Europe."

Cedillo is a fellow MEChA member with Bustamonte and the primary proponent of AB 60. John has tape of Cedillo lamely asserting that illegal aliens would never stoop to illegally registering to vote or illegally voting. In the tape, Cedillo lables anyone who would oppose illegals voting as "Brownshirts". You just can't make this up. The tense and furious California Recall is outing a lot of people's ulterior agendas and making it hard for them to stay on message instead of speaking what they believe. So - Cedillo thinks people who oppose the illegal alien driver's license bill are Nazis.

http://breakers.typepad.com/leftbeach/2003/08/

September 5, 2003 -- Anti-American radical California Assemblyman Fabian Nunez (center) is shown hugging MEChA menace state Senator Gil Cedillo as traitor Gray Davis, incompetent former socialist California governor ousted by a recall vote on October 7, 2003 , signs Cedillo's SB60, an extremely dangerous and widely loathed bill allowing invading illegal aliens to get driver's licenses. Davis is the first California governor in history to be tossed out of office. Many think he ought to be in prison.

http://www.americanpatrol.com/REFERENCE/Fabian-Nunez-Radical.html

Like the former Speaker of the Assembly, Antonio Villaraigosa, Cedillo and Bustamante were both members of college chapters of the semi-underground “Latino Power” group called MEChA - Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán.

If it were a white group, its members would be termed racial supremacists by the entrenched media.

And that characterization would be correct.

MEChA members [MEChistas] refer to California and the greater Southwest as Aztlán - a mythical Aztec empire - and their plans regarding it are grandiose. They argue that Aztlán was illegally taken from the Hispanic people - regardless of what the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo says – and that La Raza [literally The Race] must reclaim the territory, using force if necessary.

“In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlán from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth…Aztlán belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent… our brothers makes us a people whose time has come and who struggles against the foreigner "gabacho" who exploits our riches and destroys our culture. With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture.

Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlán.” El Plan de Espiritual de Aztlán, the charter document upon which MEChA is based.

Good.

Now let Schwarzenegger forever denounce CDLs for Illegals, and Amnesty by any other name while he's at it.

The Democrats can pass it but it can only take effect next January 1st. That gives us plenty of time to round up signatures for another referndum. Let's hope cooler heads prevail in the State Legislature cause 70% of Californians are against drivers' licenses for illegal aliens, period.

Interesting stuff. Here's another little tidbit for the collection:

Villaraigosa's close friend Mario Obledo, co-founder of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund)...

The current head of MALDEF, Joseph Stern, is a partner in Schwarzenegger's father-in-law's law firm. Interesting bedfellows.

Not going to happen. He's on record as saying he'll support driver's licenses for illegals if the bill has "background checks" and insurance requirements. Our power of referendum is the only defense left.

The coming numerical dominance of California's burgeoning Latino population was confirmed by the Census Bureau in July 1997. In 49 years, only 13.8 percent of Los Angeles County will be white and 69.1 percent will be Latino — a consequence of two amnesties for three million illegal aliens, sieve-like borders, and the high levels of legal immigration that have made Los Angeles the second largest Mexican city in the world.

Our country never was the globalist's to gamble with — nor a gift for Washington to give away. And to whom will all the good accrue from this dismembering? But it is past undoing now and time has run out — at least for California.
So say your fond farewells! Mecha means fuse, and it is lit.

The demonstrations of "ethnic pride" that marked Proposition 187 may have been a surprise to some, but for the Ford Foundation it represented the culmination of a quarter century of "Hispanic community-building." It was the fruition, however unintended, of Ford's manipulation of education, immigration, and government policies to create a new identity in America:"that of the Hispanic."

During the past two decades, the Ford Foundation has concentrated on programs for the expansion of Hispanic political mobilization, litigation to "clarify the rights" of immigrants, and research on immigration and reform legislation.
