According to the info in the following link, three senators were mentioned by Camil--John Stennis, John Tower and Strom Thurmond (not Jesse Helms). Thurmond was first elected to the Senate in 1932. (I tend to get Thurmond & Helms confused w/ one another myself & I suspect that such has been the case in this instance.)
