No, the FBI reports were from an insider. That was the way the FBI operated back then. I know because my cousin was approached to report on the anti-war groups on the Berkeley campus in the 60's. They had someone inside every group. Most of the accounts of the Kansas meeting state that they came from an insider.

It is amazing to watch how a story like that the LA Times ran yesterday makes it through the media world. Do a Google news search for "Kerry" "Kansas City" and you will find literally dozens of stories about how "Kerry considered his FBI surveillance to be a Badge of Honor." Not a word in any of the stories about why the Kansas City VVAW meeting was considered "controversial."

What's not old news is that Kerry's last Purple Heart "wound" was self-inflicted and he killed several innocent Vietnamese children in cold blood. Kerry's toast - make way for Queen Hiliary!Where the heck did you get that bombshell?

No, the FBI reports were from an insider. But my point is that only the most trusted inner circle could have heard the actual assassination plan. Others may have guessed it or heard snippets of it, but only the inner circle participated in the conspiracy. This probably did not include the FBI plant.
I would like to know where the instigator was a year later when Stennis was shot.

I don't believe you are accurate here. Do you have a source for this claim that the FBI info re KC came from an insider.
I believe that it's possible some info re the VVAW came from insiders--though most of the "biographers" of the VVAW don't seem to think it was infiltrated until after this time--and into 1972.
Also, as far as I know the FBI did't know anything about this particular aspect of the KC meeting, meaning the assassination discussion, because they met somewhere unbugged and with only the most trusted upper level folks involved.
It doesn't take much for stories to get scewed. If you post something like the above without supportive documentation, you aren't helping the story.

Just guessing, but Camil might have still been in jail or on trial for his part in the conspiracy to violently disrupt the GOP convention in 1972. You could check via a search for the "Gainesville 8."

Correct. I would add that 4 months hardly makes a 'veteran'. Definition: "One who is much experienced in any service, especially the military". 4 months in a war zone just does'nt cut it with this former 'Grunt'.

Actually it is a big reflection on his judgement. He shoulda reported a conspiracy against the government. I guess some people think assassination plots are no biggie. It is a big deal to me.How do we know he didn't report it? How do we know for sure he wasn't working for the FBI? That would put a big crimp in his Vietnam protesting credentials.
Frankly it's the only reason I can think of that he's gotten away with this not becoming a story years ago. Maybe he was working both sides of that issue way back when, just as he works both sides of every issue now.
Anybody else have another theory that is more interesting than mine?

I don't understand why this story of the assasination plot hasn't made "60 minutes" or ALL of the media outlets, til we heard it day and night ad nauseum??? Sheesh, they never ever touch one of their own.

60 Minutes did a big puff piece segment on Kerry in April 1971, when he was the spokesman for a group that numbered probably less than a thousand people. (And fewer of them actual vets.)
They asked him if he wanted to be President--suggesting that it was a logical step for him, and something to be wished for.

Why didn't the FBI act on this in 1971?

On scarborogh show tonight Lawarance O'Donnel yelled at everyone and said it was a non-story and a lie. He went nuts so I think the whole thing was true. When the left goes nuts it is true.

OH do you have a source for that? That's the kind of info I need.

"Can you show that he did not receive them."
Since we're on the subject of service records, is there anyway to find out if someone received a less than honorable discharge from the Marine Corp?
To: Djarum
They could not bug the Mennonite hall to which the meeting had been moved.

Those of the seven senators in question who are not dead should send open letters to Kerry thanking him for allowing them to live. HA! This would be PRICELESS!! Better would even be a letter from a child or even grandchild who would not have existed if the plan had gone through.
