Political sparring should be expected given the shifts in power, said Sen. Damon Thayer, R-Georgetown. Thayer said Kentucky for the first time in years has a legitimate two-party system and that politicians not used to having opposition realize that "this is a democracy, and we don't own these seats."

Sen. Damon Thayer (R) is bound for national office. A pro-life, pro-gun Republican who isn't afraid to let the Democrats know who their daddy is.

He looks good on camera to boot.

Odd, the country has a one party system. I suspect Ky does also, they are trying to fool the rest of us.

I guess if you are politically 2 standard deviations outside of the norm to either the left or the right, it would seem that we have a one party system.

That would also mean you are not normal and that you are a deviant.

Of course, if you are in fact not normal and a deviant, this is a compliment and a badge of honor.

Did I mention that Kentucky has a Republican majority in the senate for the first time in recent memory. This puts such a burr under the saddle of the socialists.

It makes this right-wing-one-standard-deviation-from-the-norm-Republican smile.

There is indeed a one party system in this country, and it's name is the Incumbent Party.

Well, I'm for the party that will reduce government power and influence, lower my taxes, and permit me a greater degree of liberty.

I might as well go back to bed. That was such a pleasant dream...

I know what you mean. I don't even think it's the Republican nationally that are at fault.

Bush has tried so hard to make everyone happy that he has ended up pleasing no one. He had it made politically and squandered it. My problem with him is his willingness to sign the Assault Weapons Ban.
