I don't get it either. All Hamas and other terrorist leaders and even Arafat should be assasinated pronto. I hope the U.S. is just posturing. Why we do that I do not know -- and I no longer respect it either. The world still hates us anyway, so we should just openly say: Get to it, Israel!
Instead, we join the Euroweenies and the U.N. and the Arab states by spanking Israel all the time while they continue to bury their dead because of the terrorists. I am getting fed up.
There is no difference between our overall terror war and what Israel has done and plans to do. Putin has the right idea: All terrorists must be destroyed.

"Israel was not "entitled to carry out extra-judicial killings."
The UN will only allow terrorists, socialists, and communists to carry out extra-judicial killings. Western nations must just humble themselves and bow down before the world government body. I thought everyone knew this.

I have to agree with you on this. Given that Yassin was clearly inspiring/calling the shots/enflaming these terrrorists to commit suicide/shred Israelis, he has to be considered an enemy combatant. He has aboslutley no moral ground to stand (wheel around on) when he is openly advocating and encouraging actions that are monstrous by definition in "peaceful" Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
Israel had just as much right to kill Yassin as we do to deliberately target Bin Laden. Given the numbers and frequency of attacks, it's debatable that Israel has even MORE political currency to start plugging these maggots.
I think the Vatican is trying to stem further assassinations (i.e. Arafat). For some reason, they've really hung their hat on that guy as the sole hope for any peaceful solution to the Israeli/Palestinian debate.
Kofi Annan couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag. He has negative room to give advice on anything outside of how to flush a toilet or the benefits of nepotism.

The UN... condemning the death of a terrorist.
This is the reality of our nightmare, folks.

If the left wins the White House and Congress at the same time, there will be another revolution in this country as they start trying to socialize the state.
It will be a necessity if the scenario you describe happens.

We ARE happy. And we will veto any condemnation (I think). At least we will block any sanctions. But we'll make cooing noises about vigilante justice to maintain diplomatic relations with the Arabs.
Our relations with the Pals are, IMO, similar to our relations with Hitler's Germany before WWII. We don't like them, they don't like us, they kill our people when we get in their way and vice versa. But we maintain the fiction known as diplomatic relations in order to get messages passed back and forth.

The Un-State Dept has gone through a transformation in the last twenty years. It no longer works to further United States interests abroad. It works to further overseas interests in the United States.

"In some addled minds, the Catholic Church rules via divine providence,"
I wouldn't say addled. I'd be more inclined to believe things are happening and statements are being made, without the Popes knowledge.
I also think it short sighted though to never question, or assume any questioning of a leader is blasphemy, or discrimanating.
That said, the Vatican's positions are specious, if not bordering on cowardly as far as radical Islam is concerned.

Your statement is not supported by fact. And it is anti-Christian Show me the facts, please, and then explain how what I said is anti-Christian.
To: Piranha
They UN wants to impede the next step, which is to kill all Hamas leaders and perhaps Arafat himself.

As a Catholic, I understand the Vatican's role in renouncing violence. But I am absolutely embarassed at its blatant bias regarding this terror. Right, and I didn't mean it as an anti-Catholic comment (not that you're implying that I did -- I'm just putting myself on record). There are many "Protestant" churches here in the US that do the same thing. They look the other way when Christians or Jews are oppressed or killed and then blow their stack when someone defends themselves against radical Islamic terrorists.
