In other words, Russia runs exercises, just as we do. The difference is that President Bush doesn't try to use STRATCOM's annual GLOBAL ARCHER exercise (that's the exercise where they pretend to nuke Russia) as a political prop.
Bingo! One has to look @ the history of Russian politics to understand where Putin is coming from. Putin's style of government would not be considered too abnormal for Russia.
Also, he is trying to be all things to almost every faction within Russia. One day he'll be a war hawk, the next a peace loving free trader and he is great at it. Putin is probably one of the most skilled politicians in the last 50 years.

Damn!! Sounds like your candidates are a LOT more fun than ours!
Ours could put a hyperactive crank tweaker to sleep.

Topol-M is a sweet missile. No one will send armies to attack Russia.

Well, have a good day at work...I don't view Russia as an enemy. Someone to keep an eye one..Yes, but for the most part I view the moves they "make against" us as just the usual jockying for position that takes place.

All this is just Putin envy on the part of my fellow paranoid Americans. They secretly wish they had a Putin in Chief.

PS: You sure Russia doesn't want San Francisco back? We will throw in Alaska if she takes it back - at least Putin would drill in ANWAR.

Don't forget that Russian Intelligence taped phone conversations between Bush and Blair and gave them to Saddam..
