Here's the part that gets me: The global reaction to that decision, however, casts doubt on Mr Sharon's entire policy.

Global reaction? The UK Telegram does not speak for me. The more dead Islamikazes and their leaders, the better, IMO.

"The global reaction" is just horse s. Who can speak for the whole world? Nobody. This is just a little conceit/deceit that journalists like to invoke, pretending to speak on behalf of the speechless/thoughtless/timid masses. Actually, they themselves are the speechless/thoughtless/timid ones.
