Very good article, thanks for this post. It explains well the difference between the American and the European mind set.
I'll be cynical and state the it is regretable that we've gotten bogged down in Wilsonian nation-building in Iraq, because I think most of the Jacksonians (which at that point was pretty much everybody who wasn't actually AT an anti-war protest, plus Rachel Corrie's parents and the the "Peacful Tommorows" idiots) were ready to go onto Syria.
