Clarke claims that Condi Rice didn't even know who Al Qaeda was. I'm nearly falling on the floor laughing. The entire world knew UBL was a threat when he was interviewed in a world exclusive interview, by CNN's Nic Robertson in August of 1998, televised in it's entirety to the world via CNN and CNN International and when he famously repeated his jihad against America.

This has me laughing also. We have a cat that we got as a kitten probably six years ago. He went through several names because we just couldn't find one that fit his personality. As a kitten, he was just a crazy, psycho, and totally terrorized our other adult cat, and wouldn't leave her alone. Finally we started referring to him as "the terrorist" and that eventually involved to us calling him Bin Laden, or Bin for short. Well, obviously, after 9/11 we immediately had to change his name again, as we didn't want to be calling for Bin Laden throughout the neighborhood when he snuck out the door. What I'm getting to, is that before 9/11 even we knew who Bin Laden was, and we weren't the political junkies that we are now!

That's a GREAT story.

My sister is a stay at home mom of 3 and does not pay much attention to the news and NEVER has the television or radio on.

I called her on 9/11 because I knew she wouldn't know what was happening otherwise. She hadn't heard what was happening (I called around 9:30 that morning) and she immediately said it's Osama Bin Laden. I was stunned.

Everyone I called that day knew it was OBL. The air conditioning guy (who was no rocket scientist let me tell you!) who was working on our A/C that day knew it was OBL.

I doubt Clarke will repeat that particular comment as it's so provably false and ridiculous that he probably already regrets making it.

A judge will tell a jury that if a person has been found to lie about ANY part of their testimony, they may discard the evidence presented by that person altogether.

I think Clark has just told such a provable lie that we are able to discard his testimony and book alltogether.
