Holding the President responsible for his actions is one thing; but insisting that because he doesn't bow and scrape at our every whim is a cause for electing John Kerry (because, at the core, that is
exactly what you are proposing) is another matter completely.
Am I pissed off at some of the things that Bush and company have done? Sure! But I'm not so wrapped up in myself to believe that "some other guy" (as certain current and former FR posters like to scream in their incessant bitchfests) is going to be able to do things any better in 2004.
Now if you want to talk about setting things up so that when GW leaves office that a better candidate can be in place to take the reins, that's different.
But bitching and moaning ain't gonna do a damned thing.

well stated.
It amuses me, sometimes, as a relative noobie, to see some of the folks here present their narrow-focus vision of conservatism as the be-all-end-all of conservatism - and, yes, I have noted beck_is_right among their number before today.
They seem to forget that no one i say again NO ONE is perfect, and that one man's "perfect" conservatism could well be seen as poisoned conservatism by another.

There's never gonna be a third party takeover. The only way to make a new party is to kill off one of the two majors. I'd prefer that the target be the Democrat Party.
Once the Dems are dead, the Republican Party has some serious and immediate choices to make.
