Maravich was setting college records when, as a teenager, I started playing and following basketball, so he became my my first basketball hero. Then I saw him play a lot when his NBA teams came to Chicago. Dribbling, passing, and shooting, Pete was one amazing, eye-popping offensive package.

(Bill Walton was the best-passing center I saw, especially his outlet passes to trigger the break.)
