[history]
Tiffany globe paperweight belonged to victim Gregory Milanowycz, 25, said his mom, Adele.
March 21, 2004 -- EVERYBODY does it. That's the response Jane Turner got when she told federal investigators that a fellow FBI agent had stolen a Tiffany globe found at the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Do you expect the people hired to work for the FBI to be any different from the rest of the population here in the US? Do they have a moral standards test that they must pass before being hired? I don't think so. Far too many people in our society will do whatever they can get away with.

Yo G-Men, a Tiffany Globe is not a 'trinket'.

All I ask is that they throw these FBI thieves in prison and strip their gubmint pensions, you know, punish them like we do with the 'rest of the population.'

Thats right. If it has a general resell value, its theft, not just a souvenir.

The NY Port Authority is sending souvenirs from the WTC to everyone from the band Styx to the Pope.
The Dems' press is just too silly at times.

But afterward, the FBI said it planned to fire Turner because she'd "tarnished the FBI's reputation." Officials said it had nothing to do with the globe - it was because she'd been "disruptive" at a meeting.
Yeah right. She pointed out that robbing graves might not be high on the list of ethical things to do and now she's canned.

Reality is such that I'd be happy if the thieves got hefty fines.

Yeah, no kidding. I can see people keeping small pieces of steel, or other "non-unique" objects from the WTC. But something like that globe just doesn't seem right.

Sessions has done absolutely NOTHING to straighten out the corruption at the FBI.
This instance is minor. A chipped glass globe isn't worth anything in itself. I agree that it should be returned to the family, now it is known who it belonged to, but I don't think a federal case should be made of it. On the other hand, those responsible for circling the wagons and firing the whistle blower should be canned, and she should have her job back. The proper response would have been to instantly restore the globe to its proper owner instead of blowing the whole thing up into what is now a major scandal.

A chipped glass globe isn't worth anything in itself.
Perhaps in monetary terms. But how would you like to be the parent of the kid that had the globe knowing that a secretary in the FBI had it on her desk as some sort of conversation piece?
And you're right: the bigger scandal here is, yet again, trying to shutup the messenger.

The clintons told us that family values do not matter. Heck, they demonstrated that any kind of values do not matter.
What era are the FBI agents in question from? Were they hired during the reign of clinton?
