Ross Perot: The heroes' hero

This is a very interesting article about H. Ross Perot.
He's definitely an interesting person. I think he definitely loves his country.
Here's an excerpt from the article:
"Ross Perot is known around the world as the folksy dynamo who founded a computer empire and ran for president in 1992 and 1996. His colorful criticism that NAFTA would produce a "giant sucking sound" of jobs being siphoned overseas echoes today.
When asked to write his own epitaph once, he answered: "Made more money faster. Lost more money in one day. Led the biggest jailbreak in history. He died. Footnote: The New York Times questioned whether he did the jailbreak or not."

I love what his mother told him:
"Ross, a little of you goes a long way."
ie as with most people!

99.9%...hmmm sounds like Ivory soap... you must have known the
.1% personally..do you realize how foolish this all sounds? One question why did the polls close to 8% within 2 weeks of Perot's bail out? Your statements seem to fit the typical Perot(Clinton) voter thinking pattern.
How embarrassing to reach to such extremes to justify your complicity in the election of the worst, most corrupt, subversive and immoral president in our history.
The country is still paying for your vote (not even will 9-11 consideration)...and... in your case, actually working for the trojan horse.
Pardon me if I don't thank you for giving Hillary a little shove to help her continue the Clinton agenda in the process.

Perot is co-chair of the Air Force Memorial foundation.... SO?

Okay, Perot gave the sinkmaster the win in '92 (maybe, No new taxes had anything to do with it LOL). Dole, the guy in the Britany Spears ad leering while petting his dog, Mr. and Mrs. I like viagra, foreign agent for the Chilean fishing industry, was the Republican candidate in '96. Perot was not responsible then. Take some ownership.

No New Taxes? a lie against a liar for the ages? lol I have said the 1st Bush was a lousy President... but he was the incumbent, a huge advantage. Perot negated that advantage.
I will tell you though, if the Democrat had been say Sam Nunn, I would most probably had voted for him. Bush #1 was that bad...BUT Clinton?
It was obvious to anyone with a little common sense as to what and who he was. NO New Taxes was a minor factor in his defeat.

Sorry if you don't want to see the truth. Hindsight is 20/20. If I knew what was going to happen, would I have supported Perot? Absolutely not.

The operation... hijacking 4 airliners versus a handful of scum with a car bomb aren't even in the same universe..you have got to be kidding..... Both the operations had the same intent - destruction of the WTC. Had the bomb been slightly larger in 1993, one tower would have instantly collapsed, there wouldn't have been time for evacuation of the lower floors as there was in 2001. It is likely 20-30,000 or more may have been killed.

Perot's Company, soon to be created if conditions planned by he and Clinton fell into place... (Remember..General Motors bought EDS.. [which managed Medicare]from him to get him off the board...) .... was to win the contract to manage brand new Hillarycare...1/7th of the GDP of this country... ole Ross, your so called "folksy" character is only a Clintonite snake looking to make a massive killing making him tens of Billions more. That's no different than the ethics of free traitors. If you can make a buck at it, it's all good.

An incumbent president with a crappy economy at election time is not a huge advantage. Heck, you didn't even like voting for him. After eight long years of the Clinton looking for his third legacy, I'd vote for a Republican BOZO over him.
But if you don't acknowledge the slick part of Clinton's campaign, his unnamed media sympathizers and enablers, tireless effort to politicize everything, and the do nothing justice department and REALIZE If Clinton were to run again, he might win. Even against Dubya. I don't understand it, I hate even thinking about the possibility, but I think its true.
Think about McCain as an independent when that was a possibility. Do you think if he thought the VP slot was his, and winnable, he'd be loyal to the republicans?

I just wish Gore was the candidate instead of Kerry. Put him on TV on election day and put all the dems to sleep.

LOL if you think the intelligence failure is equal in both cases you're grossly incorrect. the 93 Bombing could have been conceived, planned and executed by three people in a garage... Hijacking 4 airliners in the same hour on the same day with about 14 perps is a major undertaking... also taking those buildings down in 1993 defied physics. Ever see what it takes to bring a building down? I think explosives in a building that size would need much more explosives very strategically placed.
The connection to bin Laden was there though...and Bubba did nothing... the attack on a US Warship...Bubba did nothing..that's what this is all about. ROSS PEROT should at the very least be categorized in the same way Dr. MUDD, the John Wilkes Booth Physician.. remember the "Your name is MUDD" cliche'? Perot should be recorded as "MUD" in history
To: evm
My husband's read the book, and I think it's part of the reason he voted for Perot.
I don't agree with everything Perot did in '92, and I definitely think it helped to get Clinton elected. However, Perot has done/still does many things for his fellow countrymen. He should be rewarded for the positive things that he has done.
To: Hildy
Hindsite? Perot couldn't win...but Clinton could..and I and many voters knew the gravity of that result...What does hindsite have to do with anything... our country was at risk with a Clinton presidency...
how do you like his ACLU lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg Supreme Court appointment?Let me ask you what you thought when the runt quit...and did you resume your efforts when he came back? if so... why?

Ever see what it takes to bring a building down? I think explosives in a building that size would need much more explosives very strategically placed The point I'm making is that Clinton & Bush Sr. were both soft on terrorists (as was Reagan). Where was the retaliation for the Beirut bombings? Where was the retaliation for the Lockerbie bombing? How about the Achile Lauro or the beating to death of the Navy guy on the TWA flight hijacked to Lebanon?
It wasn't until 9/11 that this country woke up to threat of terrorists, but the threat was ignored by Bush Sr., setting the stage for WTC one in 1993, and ignored even moreso by Clinton, setting the stage for WTC 2.
Had Reagan, Bush Sr. or Clinton reacted to the attacks on their watches as GWB did after 9/11, there wouldn't have been a 9/11.

the attack on a US Warship...Bubba did nothing.. True, nor did Bush. The attack occured about 3 months before Clinton left office and there was no response by either Clinton or Bush.
As I have said time and time again, this country didn't wake up to the threat of terrorism until 9-11. I do however fear that we're about to go back to sleep if John Kerry is elected.

the only way an extreme leftist Like Kerry would be Perot type help. Clinton was a governor and could hide his radical leftward bent...Kerry is a Senator...too much documented left radical history to overcome... do you realize since FDR there has been only one US Senator elected President...Kennedy.
Eisenhauer was a general ..Truman, Johnson, Nixon, GHWBush VP's and the rest all governors.
Once they get Kerry's atrocious record ...and if Perot stays in his quiet delusional world ... Kerry will be destroyed.
To: evm
The country woke up... the Bush administration looking at Iraq before 9-11... and what kind of information do you really think the inept Clinton administration could give the Bush administration that would have given then enough of a heads up to even have an inkling of what might be happening?
Clinton..from 1993 right through the Cole attack did NOTHING! Period! Of what use would they be in transition? None!
To: Bob Eimiller
I think we can say the guy sincerely cares about those who wear the uniform.
GhwB lost the election when he signed George Mitchell's tax increase; Gingrich told him so at the time. Exit polling also suggested he took votes pretty evenly. Bush senior earned his 37%-Perot didn't rob him.
Whatever else you think of Perot, and his ego, he did not cost G.H.W. Bush the election; and he is a patriot.
