Perot is a good man. His only sin was running as an Independent and not being Hollywood and camera friendly. People are so shallow. Dont forget that the whole "you people" thing kinda finished him

"Ross Perot is known around the world as the folksy dynamo who founded a computer empire and ran for president in 1992 and 1996. His colorful criticism that NAFTA would produce a "giant sucking sound" OF JOBS BEING SIPHONED OVERSAEAS ECHOES TODAY."
...anyone care to ask the dimwit who wrote this article to name the OCEANS between Canada and the US, and between Mexico and the US!!!!!
CHINA, PAKISTAN, INDIA, and the rest are NOT members of NAFTA.

Cliches' are a poor subsitute for rational thought.Okay. Try this on for size.
The Republicans, George HW Bush, in particular did a poorer job of convincing the American public that he deserved to be president than did Bill Clinton and the Democrats. Because of the poor job he did, he lost the election.
Failing to heed the lessons of 1992, the Republicans fielded another dull, plodding candidate in 1996, and thus lost another opportunity to reclaim the Presidency.
Some people (mostly sore-loser Republicans, who don't take responsibility for their actions) like to blame Ross Perot for Bush's loss in 1992 and 1996.
I say the Republicans lost in 1992 and 1996 because they failed to get enough votes to win. IOW, they failed to give the voters a reason to vote Republican.
Anything else is a rationalization for running not one, but two separate losing presidential campaigns.

The Republicans, George HW Bush, in particular did a poorer job of convincing the American public that he deserved to be president than did Bill Clinton and the Democrats. Because of the poor job he did, he lost the election. The fact of the matter is, Crazy Ross cynically manipulated the American people into believing he wanted to be President, and that he would fix what was wrong with the country.
He withdrew when it looked like he might win.
He came back in for the sole purpose of diverting votes from George H W Bush.
Ross did it out of petty, personal vindictiveness against President Bush.
Nothing you say changes that.
Ross Perot is a tiny little vindictive man, no matter how much money he has, and no matter how much you worship him.

The only thing I can say is that I actually don't blame Ross Perot.
I will say that I blame the people that voted for him. They should have thought about what they were doing. It was obvious that Perot was not going to win, and that the race was between Clinton and Bush.
My husband now recognizes that he made a mistake, but I don't understand why he voted for Perot in the first place.
Oh well.

The fact of the matter is, Crazy Ross cynically manipulated the American people into believing he wanted to be President, and that he would fix what was wrong with the country. The fact of the matter is that this is what all politicians do, even George W. Bush.
But, none of this changes the fact that GHW Bush and the Republicans failed to convince the voters that Bush would make a better president than Perot or Clinton, which is why he lost.
And none of your silly rationalizations will change this simple fact.
Naturally, you ignore the glaring loss in 1996 that proves that the republican party failed to heed the lessons that should have been learned from their loss in 1992.
And naturally, as a sore-loser republican you attempt to stifle any criticism of your beloved party as support, nay, worship for Perot because it's easier to use him as a whipping boy than to admit that you (republicans) backed a loser in both 1992 and 1996.
It was ever thus.
To: Ol' Dan Tucker
The fact of the matter is that this is what all politicians do, even George W. Bush. I hadn't realized that George W. Bush had only pretended to be running for President and withdrawn when it was obvious he would win.
When did this happen?

This is why republicans lost in 1992 and 1996. Thank you for proving my point. You're not going to get the last word, no matter how little sense you make.
Especially since you make no sense at all.
Tick... Tick... Tick..
I'm waiting for your next non-sequitur.

Ross Perot gave us President Clinton. It is well worth noting that Ross kept his mouth shut during those 8 hellish years of Bill Clintoons reign. I may also lay blame on Ross Perot for accelerating America's moral decline by his actions/hatred of #41. I am confident there is a special place in hell for him, regardless of how much he contributed in the world of Philanthropy.

I always figured it was because The Rapist gave him some sweetheart business opportunities to help him multiply his $billions and $billions.
