CO2 Hits Record Levels, Researchers Find (Ozone too. ZOT!!!)
Associated Press ^ | 3-20-04 | Charles Hanley

Carbon dioxide, the gas largely blamed for global warming, has reached record-high levels in the atmosphere after growing at an accelerated pace in the past year, say scientists monitoring the sky from this 2-mile-high station atop a Hawaiian volcano.

Carbon dioxide, mostly from burning of coal, gasoline and other fossil fuels, traps heat that otherwise would radiate into space. Global temperatures increased by about 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.6 degrees Celsius) during the 20th century, and international panels of scientists sponsored by world governments have concluded that most of the warming probably was due to greenhouse gases.

I'm glad to know the President says global warming is unproven and the record tempartures we've been experiencing the past few weeks are a natural phenomenon. I'd hate to have to trade in my Expedition for a hybrid, or God forbid, take public transportation!

A whopping degree in a whole century. Wow.

It was 40 here yesterday, 50 today. Will the water in Lake Erie boil in 2 weeks?

Carbon dioxide, mostly from burning of coal, gasoline and other fossil fuels

They made this up. There are thousands of forest fires burning right now. Volcanos are belching every day. Animals are breathing. Alcohol is also a popular fuel, and it isn't a fossil fuel.

Not only are the animals breathing, they are passing gas. Remember when Congress appropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars over several years so that quasi scientists could study the effect of bovine flatulance on the ozone hole.

Ding-dong. Ding-dong. Ding-dong.

Awwww...bring back acid rain! I miss acid rain! Sure, it wasn't true, either, but I miss all those comical forests of upright sticks! How on earth did they ever manage to find something that looked like that to take pictures of, anyway?

Maybe we should just tell everyone to stop breathing. Producing CO2, after all!

More CO2 means superior plant growth...re-forested deserts etc.
