Report On The Pro-USA Rally In Syracuse, NY, March 20th, 2004
Never fear, fellow Americans. Despite the ad nauseam reporting on todays events by the leftist media, there were patriots in the streets today, supporting their troops and their country. In Syracuse, NY, 14 such Americans, strangers to each other until today, assembled to brave the cold and the stench from the anti-war "peace" protesters in order to let the troops and their fellow Americans know that they are not forgotten.
Of course, the media will focus its collective cameras on those who would take us back to the days when our brave military personnel were spit on and castigated for their service in Vietnam. Well, it's up to all of us to show these leftists that Iraq is not Vietnam. Operation Iraqi Freedom was a moral and just war, one to be proud of. A cruel dictator, Saddam Hussein, is no longer in power, thanks to our brave lads and lassies on the frontlines of Iraq. He no longer fills the mass graves and rape rooms, despite the efforts of those media darlings, the anti-war left. If it were up to them, Saddam would still be in power and we'd not only have the country of Iraq to worry about, but Libya as well. Since March of last year, we've seen support for terrorism diminish by two countries. That's a good thing, as Martha Stewart would say.
On the streets of Syracuse today, we saw numerous drivers-by who would whole-heartedly agree with our assessment of the current state of affairs in the world. America and Iraq are both better off as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Over seventy-five percent of cars passing by during our two-hour rally gave us the thumbs up to indicate that they, too, appreciate the sacrifice of those who serve. While we did witness the occasional protester driving by, rolling down a car window to spit at us, (I do not make that up) we left the field of battle knowing that our fellow citizens agree with us. There will be no spitting on our troops, nor will they be told that their service to their country is something to be ashamed of.
We are proud of our soldiers, our president, and our country. We are on the right side of history. So never fear, fellow citizens. Despite what the news media reports, word on the street is that America loves and honors her brave soldiers. We did the right thing in 2003 and the battle continues. It's up to all of us to be remember and honor those who serve. While they protect us day in and day out, we, too, must protect them from those who would spit on their service.

Good coverage also on the 10:00 Fox broadcast. Although they led off with the protest story, they segued to you with, "and dozens of Patriots with another view" were across the street. Your interview was sincere and clear. What a contrast with the orchestrated phonies across the street.

Great job, Jon!

thanks!
BTW, It's been reported that the Syracuse Hate Council, despite their organized efforts, may have had 100 people there and only 55 on a bus to NYC (30k reported in NYC, protest canceled in D.C.=Low Support For The Spitters)
Sent to me by a fellow patriot in Michigan:
We had the same situation in Grand Rapids, MI. Me, my husband and my 2 children (ages 8 and 12) showed up at the "Peace Protest" where about 200 protesters had assembled. Imagine my glee when 5 other fellow patriots showed up, waving flags and chanting USA, USA, USA.
I carried a sign: TERRORISTS LOVE ANTI-WAR PROTESTERS and my daughter's sign read: WE GAVE PEACE A CHANCE. REMEMBER SEPT. 11TH? My son had a sign WE LOVE OUR TROOPS and on the other side DEAR PRESIDENT BUSH: THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE COURAGE TO PROTECT THE UNITED STATES Jon, you may remember this sign....Quinn was called up on stage in D.C. last April at the Support Our Troops Rally, by the country music singer who won a contest on the G. Gordon Liddy show. He read Quinn's sign out loud on stage. That poor beat up sign has been to several rallies.
Our local media is quite conservative here and we were interviewed by 3 newspapers and one television station. The television reporter and I hit it off quite well. They have been promo-ing the news all night with a picture of our signs and me talking saying that we were there to support our President, our Military and the war on Iraq. One other news report said that "One of the protesters carried a sign saying that terrorists love anti-war protesters". It was awesome. Our 9 people received more press than the 200 or so anti-war protesters did. My eight year old son stood up on a concrete ledge and led us all in the Pledge of Allegiance. We got honks, thumbs up and several cops telling us THANKS. Even got a couple birds from some disgruntled anti-Americans who think the only free speech should be their own.
We had a GREAT day and I know that we are fulfilling our responsibility as parents to raise honest, respectful children who love their country and aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in!!
God Bless America!!
