Doesn't sound as though she pressed charges against him.
Sounds like 2 drunk people playing a stupid, but dangerous game of some kind. Sounds like an "accident".
Why did the state feel they needed to get involved in this?

From the
Vicksburg Post:
Jackson testified that during the course of their nine-year relationship Taylor had beaten her, given her black eyes and shot her. Two affidavits signed by Jackson charging Taylor with aggravated assault also were admitted as evidence in the trial. She never followed through on the charges.
We care about her, thats why we prosecuted this case, Martin said. We are trying to protect her from herself.

Oh, for God's sake. She's a grown woman. Get the hell out of her life. If she wants to stay with a man who beats her up, blacks her eyes, sets her on fire, and shoots her, that is her decision to make.
No sarcasm at ALL.

Exactly, though I'm glad that beast of a boyfriend is out of circulation.
I keep forgetting people like this exist in greater numbers than I care to think.

Setting people on fire is teh new hottness. All the cool kids are doing it.
And if they had it on MTV, I bet the little tards would try it.
To: willieroe
Ah......I figured there must be something missing from this article.
Thanks. Makes sense now.
