I agree. I'll never forget the day I saw George Bush debating Al Gore. It was a town meeting type debate. I thought to myself....wow, this is a guy who I can relate to. I like him. I still like him. God Bless you President and Mrs. Bush. There will always be snobs in the crowd. But this is one Conserative Massachusetts girl who is casting her vote in November 2004 for President George W. Bush. The biggest thing now will be that clip I saw on Fox News tonight, the interview he had last fall when he said it would be "irresponsible" for any senator to vote against the $87 billion for our troops in Vietnam. Devastating.

Our troops where? Did Kerry say that, or is your computer suffering from the dangerous johnkerry virus in which it inserts the word Vietnam in any sentence mentioning Kerry?

Leftists see themselves as Ubermenschen who, because of their moral and intellectual superiority, have undertaken the protection of the inferior--intellectually and otherwise--Untermenschen peasants.

What really cracks me up is where these folks obtain all their supposed moral and intellectual superiority.The Ivy league and Oxford/Cambridge! And they read Marx and Keynes there! They will save us from the barbarians of flyover country! What a joke.

John Kerry is such a goof. The more people learn about him, the less they will like him. Some will vote for him, but only because they hate Republicans, not because they like Kerry.

That's what a lot of journalists are saying. They never talk to anyone who's enthusiastic about John Kerry, only those who support him because they think he can win. That's why Kerry looked sure to lose at the beginning of his campaign: he didn't light any fires in anyone. The funny thing is that Kerry seems to be convinced himself that he is a charismatic politician in the John Kennedy mold -- or maybe it's the sad thing.

It's hard to believe that Kerry could ever win, but since Clinton did twice, it's a good idea to keep one's fingers crossed. I figured anyone would be able to see through Clinton, toom, but so many didn't. Maybe the difference is that Clinton could connect with ordinary anxious voters more. This time, at least, there won't be a Perot running.

Eliot, he writes his own verse on the "barren desolation of the desert." That of course is when he's not in "his Fellini stage" or gracefully plucking Segovia on his classical guitar. Now, I think that I actually like him even more as a person than I did before... He's the sort of person that I'd like to hang out with. Maybe I'm too boring for Dowd too... Of course, that suits me fine.
