Two things should be kept in mind:
1) Kerry was no youngster playing at being a revolutionary in 1971. He was 28 and old enough to take responsibility for his actions. He can't claim youthful naivety as a defense.
2) Someone has raised the interesting possibility that Kerry was an FBI informer while a member of the VVAV. Wouldn't that set the cat among the pigeons?
