Willie, you don't have a deeper knowledge of Cuba's history, and the facts behind Castro's seizure of power than I do...all you have is what your socialist agenda teaches you.
The middle class in Cuba was disillusioned by the violation of the Constitution, and the suspension of free elections by Fulgencio Batista after his coup. Should the same things happen here, economic well-being will not be sufficient to hold back public discontent.
I'll repeat myself once again:
There was no economic discord in Cuba prior to Castro. His support among the people of Cuba was driven by the his lies about restoring the constitutional republic, and free elections.

Heck, China doesn't have free elections.
Yet we're being told that China will become democratic if transnational corporations invest over there.
Why should anybody expect that to work in China when Batista fell flat on his face?

I went to boarding school with Batista's daughter and the daughter of the Cuban leader who preceded Batista -- can't remember his name, you probably do if you are Cuban. They were best friends.
Didn't like me because I was too weird, but that's another story. No skin off my nose, I thought they were silly cows.
