If they are in Afghanistan, that's good. That's where our armed forces have jurisdiction and don't need to be asked to intervene, as would be the case with Pakistan.
Too bad bin Laden's address wasn't included with the al-Qaeda report.

Come to Pappa, said the spider to the fly.
He, escaped? Maybe.

Last time I checked, the Taliban is a less than reliable source.

I thought the Taliban was gone. Are we now finding that they are still around?

Far from gone It's just difficult to exert any power when you have to keep running in and out of caves to keep from getting killed!
To: rogueleader
Aw, shucks! Well, I guess we'd better call off that siege in Pakistan, then. I thought we had someone there, but if the Talitubbies say we don't, well, that's good enough for me.

"Last time I checked, the Taliban is a less than reliable source."
That's exactly what I was thinking.....maybe we are too close to capturing these two animals and the Taliban may be trying to throw us off the trail.

I said on another thread that I didn't think Z had too many good options for fleeing too far. Just my speculation, but to go any distance undetected he'd need to go in a rather small party. Any entourage of size might be too easy to spot. Of course, with the right connections he might be able to get to a third country. In the meantime, he'd be vulnerable.

In a related story, Baghdad Bob went on Iraqi TV and stated, "There are no American infidels in Baghdad. Never!".

Let's see...
Islam Online talked to AFP who talked to the Taliban.
Wow. If we can get the National Enquirer to confirm this, we've got something.

"Abdul Samad dismissed speculation by Pakistani officials that Al-Zawahiri could be surrounded in the Pakistan border district of South Waziristan, saying he was " 100per cent" sure the Al-Qaeda number two was safe. "All these reports about Ayman Al-Zawahiri being surrounded in Pakistan are not true, they are just propaganda by the U.S. coalition and by the Pakistani army to weaken Taliban morale," he said. "
Abdul in Kabul believes there is a U.S. led coalition Kerry in Ketchum doesn't...... Who is in a better position to know ?

Not just acceptable, but an obligation.

So he's 100% certain, eh? Sounds like ol' Abdul Samad is due for a little drop by visit from some friendly questioners.
Or maybe just a drone escort everywhere he goes. Wave for the camera!
To: rogueleader
100per cent" sure the Al-Qaeda number two was safe. This statement was put out at the same time they said, "stop chasing us or we will attack you"
If they are 100% sure they are safe, then why are they asking us to lay off???
