Nothing new here unless you are trying to explain a nuance that I may not understand. sure, we share the same enemy and so does all of the truly free world, but there is at least one significant difference, the bad guys aren't blowing themselves up in our cities every day nor do we have them living next door. Oh, I remember what happened in NYNY and I know there are probably cells of bad guys living in the US plotting right now, but the difference is, and it is huge, is that the enemies actions will bring pain and suffering to some, but will not bring our country down like what they can do to Israel. We can defend ourselves, Israel can as well but at what international cost?

I do not agrees with Pat nor do I believe Savage's beliefs that total destruction of the enemy is necessary, but I do not think generation after generation of US involvement is a good idea either. So, where does it leave us? Is there an exit plan? Can there be a solution?

I was thinking the other day about what constrains the Jews from fighting a war like we are in Iraq. I think the reason is precisely what brought the Jews to Israel in the first place and that is the attempted genocide brought on by Hitler and the Nazi's. The Jews, in order to have rest from external and internal violence must clear the deck of all enemy combatants and future combatants, something like what Savage believes, and that is not an option after WWII.

In 1956, 1967, and 1982, the US stopped Israel from destroying its enemies.
