Okay, I just heard that GW's speech today is to mark the one year anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Hope there will be some other subject matter as well.....

And, if we're lucky, a couple of pickle recipes...:-)

I hope so. It's starting to sound like Tora Bora again. We should know more by now.

Why is AQ fighting? Didn't they get the memo that martyring themselves will get them to Allah and 70 virgins?

Ignore the "he's escaped" thread that's old news from last tuesday

The area has been effectively surrounded by the troops and we are making all the effort to ensure people do not slip out during the night. Not holding my breath as they've been allowed to walk out before.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that he was acquitted from killing the president. They have the video of the killer? Did he have Jonny Cocran as the defense lawyer like O J Simpson?

FOX just announced: HVT is negotiating to live
To: All
Monsoor Ijaz just reported that the Pakis are negotiating with the HVT to live....

Egypt couldn't prove that he was involved, although he was a member of Islamic Jihad, which was responsible for assassination. In hindsight, it's pretty easy to think that he was involved in the planning.

Thanks Wiz, I was just going to bring that news over from the other thread....
To: The Wizard
That's very good, if true. It would explain the delay in info.

I know you posted this hours ago, but I am just now reading this thread.
The hard core jihadists they've got surrounded here are certainly not known to be type that would surrender.
I misread that as hard core journalists instead of jihadists because other posters had mentioned missing embedded journalists. Darn! I thought we had some leftist journalists cornered!

I don't like this talk about negotiations..This is how they were able to escape Tora Bora...night time lull...negotiating surrender.
Don't let this happen again! The bad guys know this worked last time!!

Hmmm, I'm a lot more of a believer than I was 24 hours ago. We need to put that piece of garbage al-Zawahri away.
