They're 20- and 30- and 40-something professionals. They're mainstream American citizens who are well-educated and affluent.... Some of us are also Catholic and Republican, and between the Gibson/Passion and GWB bashing I just decided to turn him off, this after having been a loyal listener for 8+ years.
I think this article is missing another perspective, in that a portion of his audience may be heading for the exits because his constant martyrdom is just plain boring. Those who are left probably weren't likely to vote W to begin with.
Stern-free and loving life!

Is "shock jock" Howard Stern's voice powerful enough to affect the upcoming presidential election to the extent of sending President Bush packing? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I am writing to Clear Channel in the hopes that they will state publicly that GWB did not cause their decision to dump Stern:

"Could Howard Stern Topple Bush?" No.
The idiots who would follow Stern's lead don't vote. Why? Felons, morons, masterbators, and drooling adolescents aren't known for their civic involvement and political acumen.

Howard needs to stop whining about his freedom of speech. He still has the freedom to say whatever he wants. He's just like the majority of people now - he's not getting paid to say it.

"He's smart and he's influential and he's courageous."
If he's smart, he sure doesn't show it.
I'm sure he influences some people, but probably very few people that actually vote.
Courageous? No, just a loud mouth with a huge ego.

I disagree.
No President should get a free ride just because there is a war on. Were that to be common practice, the President would simply be able to find a place for us to fight at all times. The truth is, there is always a war out there if you look hard enough.
Stern's comments about Bush are wrong, but I would never argue that anyone shouldn't be allowed to express their opinion of the President at any time.
Besides, women nationwide received the vote precisely because some women were willing to criticize Wilson in the midst of WWI. In fact, some of them were even arrested and imprisoned because of those who did not want them to express their opinions on Wilson.

It's really not even about Stern .. it's about FILTH ON THE RADIO. Stern is still free to peddle his filth on cable TV or X-radio. Nobody is stopping him.

BTW Stern never supported Hillary Clinton. The whole gang supported Lazio and suported Senator AL in 1998 against Schumer. And a lot of good that did!
To: Mich0127
No. Current members of his shrinking "demographic group" could not read a ballot -- even if they cared to.....

I think this article is missing another perspective, in that a portion of his audience may be heading for the exits because his constant martyrdom is just plain boring. Those who are left probably weren't likely to vote W to begin with. The New York Daily News TV editor, who was actually a Stern fan, wrote a column the other day about how Stern needed to get off his soapbox, and get back to entertaining. Stern flipped out on the show over the article, and the columnist ended up getting 800 letters from Stern listeners. The thing is, though, that many of the letters agreed with the columnist! Anyhow, here's the original column:

and here's the followup, with readers' opinions:

When Stern endorsed politicans before, he didn't make it his whole show. Now, he's becoming the new Al Franken, and I can't imagine his average listener is going to want to continue listening to that.

When Stern endorsed politicans before, he didn't make it his whole show. I remembered something else too. Back long ago they had an incident in Cleveland(?) where someone cut a wire or something and took him off the air at a live broadcast. The incident went to court and the judge either ruled against him (HS) or didnt punish the offender very harshly HS had campaigned against him too (MacGinty or something) and he won re-election overwhelmingly). Ha. (Dont know why I can remember stupid stuff like that.)

"I'm guessing the b*st*rd has a lot more fans here than either of us would like to believe."
Just do a search for older Stern's Posts and you'll find out how many there are.

Hate to admit that I listened to Howard for about 10 years, wasted my youth on that one. His show has gotten extremely boring since his divorce. I believe that if you look at the next ratings book it will show a significant decline in ratings.

Howard Stern's trouble started when he attacked Christians calling them gullible idiots for seeing the Passion Of the Christ.
God works in strange ways and Howeird Stern's time is up!

Why do we even give Stern public attention on this website? Do you really believe this guy represents the Jewish voice in America, or even any voice of decent Americans? He's nothing but a rotten, unprincipaled, uncultured, classless, living cesspool. He condemns himself on a daily basis.
Matthew 12: 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
