These parents are taking the first step but they need to get some backbone and take their kid out of public school. It seems to me to many parents, especially parents with conservative values, dont inquire or dont care what goes on in public schools.

How about the backbone it takes to be pro-active and correct the problem and get these books out of the public school? Its easier to run and only care for your own, then rail against the system, than it is to actively take part in trying to fix what ails it.

This is a good first step - but these parents are probably (I said probabably not definitely) not unlike most who will just think that little jhonny can just move on to another school where it got to be better. And there is no way that they could ever sacrifice not having two or three brand new cars and eating out every night in order to have one parent stay home or sending their child to a good christian school. Sorry if I sound pessimistic but I see it every day and it is pretty disgusting how people make the decision to have kids and then fail accept the responsibility of raising them with discipline and character.
