Giuliani told the cops in advance to observe a "hands off" policy towards the widely publicized demonstrations of public nudity that some activists were encouraging, so as not to make a bad situation worse. The NY Post article about the parade published the next day was accompanied by a photo of a nude couple marching in front of the Cathedral, which the editors judiciously doctored so as to cover the privates.

Well, shame on New York then. I would hope New Yorkers weren't bringing their kids out to watch. Still, I don't think masturbating gay parade marchers are coming to Tullahoma, Tennessee any time soon. There's a lot of hand wringing going on by people who don't live in New York or San Francisco about an issue they'll mostly likely never see personally.
