Yes, it is. Doesn't matter if it's your fingers or arms controlling the movement, you tend to create the same characteristics. Try writing on a blackboard for all to see sometime. You'll see your writing isn't that different despite using your arm to essentially make the marks - vs your fine print on paper made w/finger control.
Perhaps you've noticed that w/your teachers over the years, indeed.
