The LA Times sent out three reporters to cover this car trashing story when it broke last week. I'm just waiting to see how many reporters they send out to report it was all a fake.

Thanks for the LA Times link. Pretty much everything freepers predicted would happen now has happened -- Dunn is lawyered up, her defenders are saying that even if this case was fake, racism is still a big problem, blah blah blah.

Well you're absolutely right (and I was wrong). I thought for sure the LA Time would minimize the professor's involvement (after all, the editors would say, her heart was in the right place). Maybe they were really irked that they had been jerked around by this woman into devoting far more column inches to a couple of names spraypainted on a car than they did to murders, rapes, assaults and drive by shootings. Whatever the reason, the LA Times did do the right thing in the end by reporting the hoax completely.
